What do you think of a doctor who would ruin noses the way that Richard Ellenbogen does? He then did insurance fraud -- he billed Nora's (the lady with the eyes whited out) insurance close to $40,000, after she paid in full out of pocket. In my opinion, this sort of doctor is evil.

In my opinion, Richard Ellenbogen is a ruthless, psychopath who has no conscience and no concept of right or wrong. In my opinion Richard Ellenbogen enjoys ruining peoples’ faces and lives.

After he does so, he uses his money and power to get himself more fame and publicity and then on TV claims that he “is an artist who makes people happy and beautiful.” In my opinion, Richard Ellenbogen is one of the most evil, greedy, fame and money hungry scam artists in the world. In my opinion, Richard Ellenbogen of the TV show, Dr. 90210, is an evil, ruthless, psychopath.

According to many of the top reconstructive surgeons I've consulted with, Richard Ellenbogen is far worse than even Michael Evan Sachs, and that it is impossible to try to fix the damage Ellenbogen did to me and many others. Almost no other doctor other than Richard Ellenbogen would be so reckless as to remove ALL THE INTERNAL ANATOMY FROM THE INSIDE OF SOMEONE'S TIP AND THE NASAL SPINE, AND MAKE THE NOSE AN INCH SHORTER AND ALMOST COMPLETELY FLAT AND UNPROJECTED. IN MY OPINION, RICHARD ELLENBOGEN HAS TO EITHER BE CRAZY and/or, SKILLESS, and/or ON DRUGS, and/or DRUNK, and/or EVIL. HE IS BEYOND RECKLESS.

Richard Ellenbogen is, in my opinion, and in the opinion of many others, a reckless and unconscionable, evil, extemely old, greedy, skilless, tasteless quack. He does not apply techniques that are taught. He has a multi page waiver where all of the patients rights get signed away, and he abuses his waivers by deforming and destroying people's faces. He is, Imho evil & a psychopath.

Which Rhinoplasty Doctor is considered the worst in the entire history of the universe?? -- I vote for Richard Ellenbogen. I know many, many others who share this same opinion including all of his peers who I have consulted with. Type Ellenbogen into the search engine of the ripoffreport.com to see others who have been mutilated and deformed by Richard Ellenbogen.

I had surgery with Richard Ellenbogen. I went to him to widen the tip of my nose -- instead he removed over 90% of the tip of my nose, he remove half the brige of my nose and nasal spine and shortened my septum. He charged me $12,000 and ruined my nose, and hence my face and my confidence.

Removing the tip of someone's nose is a barbaric form of punishment. Dr. Richard Ellenbogen did this form of horrible punishment to me -- he removed all the soft tissue, and cartiladge from the tip of my nose and a good amount of the bridge of my nose. Why did you cut my nose off Ellenbogus??? Do you hate women? Are you a drug addict? Are you a psychopath? WHY??? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

He took almost all of the projection away from my nose, removed about an inch of length, rotated the tiny bit of tip that he did leave super high up and he removed my columella, nasal spine, a good amount of my septum and the tip cap. He also removed almost all of the soft tissue and cartilage from the tip of my nose so as to make it impossible to repair.

He lied on my operative report and said that I came to him for nasal shortening. I did not go to him for that. I went to him to un pinch my tip. I did not in, any way, want a short nose. I told him that I wanted a very, very subtle change. ELLENBOGUS --WHAT DOES THE WORD SUBTLE MEAN TO YOU??!!

He never returned my calls. I have a question for you Richard Ellenbogen -- WHY DID YOU AMPUTATE over HALF OF MY NOSE OFF OF MY FACE???? WHY DID YOU RUIN MY FACE? WHY DID YOU RUIN MY LIFE? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU REMOVED ALL OF THAT CARTILADGE, PROJECTION AND SOFT TISSUE? DID YOU WANT TO MAKE ME HIDEOUSLY UGLY?????!!!!

Before going to Richard Ellenbogen, I had a very tiny philtrum -- distance between my top lip and tip of my nose, after going to him the distance was huge and unattractive. He made my nose ridiculously and hideously short, flat, unprojected. It looked like the nose of someone with a congenitally short nose deformity. I explained to him that I am Mediterranean, Spanish, and Italian. I have an oval face, and it looks ridiculous with the SUPER short, flat, crooked weird nose he left me with.

Before him, I did not have nostril show, after, I had complete nostril retraction. After going to him, one could see inside my nostrils when I look straight ahead. He literally, turned my long, elegant nose that had a nice projected tip into something that resembled a pig snout. This "pig snout" nose makes my face look mean and low class. Before going to Ellenbogen, I was always told that I had an elegant, pretty and sweet look to my face.

Attached are photos of pictures of other people Richard Ellenbogen deformed and left with short, crooked, "pig snout noses". However, with me -- he was MUCH more extreme. He removed all the anatomy inside my tip and half way up my bride!!

Even my own parents could not recognize me after how drastically Richard Ellenbogen ruined my nose, and as a result the balance and the harmony of my face. It breaks my heart that I cannot recognize my face, and that I have lost my character and my ethnicity. I told him that I was a former model, and I made a living off of my looks. I explained that I live a very social life and my image is very important to me. I told him that I do not want and obvious change -- what he did to me was beyond extreme.

He also cut certain muscles that affect my smile -- which I did not give him consent to do. After my surgery, Richard Ellenbogen never returned even one of my phone calls even though I insisted that I was suffering from severe panic attacks because of how drastically and horribly different I looked because of him.

To this day, I suffer from anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress syndrome, nightmares -- all because of what Richard Ellenbogen did to me. He ruined my face and my confidence. I can no longer keep a job. I can no longer go out and see my friends or family because I look so horrible and they tell me that I do. They ask me why I did this to my face -- they don't understand. Every time I look in the mirror, I cry -- it's still devasting.

Yet Richard Ellenbogen appeared on Television and media interviews shortly after our debacles with him promoting himself on CBS and other channels as "An artist who accidentally became a plastic surgeon." He said he thinks of his job as "making people beautiful and happy." I was fooled too by how the media has promoted this man.

He says on his web site that secondary rhinoplasty is for adding and augmenting -- he writes " tissue is generally removed from various areas during the primary surgery, whereas it is often added in the secondary procedure" . He told me that he was going to add cartilage to my tip.

Meanwhile -- he instead of adding he removed almost half of my nose.

In my opinion, he is delusional if he thinks he makes people happy and beautiful. Many of us have never looked worse or been as unhappy in our lives until after Ellenbogen operated on us. In my opinion, Dr. Richard Ellenbogen is an evil psychopath who enjoys ruining people's faces and lives.

Responsible plastic surgeons of this modern day preserve the structure, tissue, and cartilage of the nose, but not Richard Ellenbogen. His techniques appear to be beyond ancient and outdated. He seems to be just sloppy and careless with his work.

Dr. T said he cannot even begin to understand what goes on in Richard Ellenbogen's head that he does such horribly destructive and aesthetically unpleasing things with people's faces.

I, paid $30,000 to Dr. T from Chicago, who used my rib cartilage to try to reconstruct my nose. He told me that "Dr. Ellenbogen made my nose almost impossible to fix because of how much soft tissue he removed. Therefore, I was not able to get much improvement from the damage that Richard Ellenbogen did to me, and I am left with an oddly short, flat, upturned nose. I may get another surgery to try to correct this more later when my nose heals more.

On the very same day when I went to first consult with Dr. T, just by coincidence, I sat next to two other ladies who had also been severely harmed by Richard Ellenbogen. Their names are Terry and Ki. It was just a chance meeting for all of us. I was told by the people that work at Dr. T's office that Dr. T sees more messed up people from Richard Ellenbogen than from any other doctor.

Ellenbogen left Ki with many open wounds -- he cut out peices of each of her nostrils and under her nose too. She had gone to him to straighten her septum and she left with her face mutilated and deformed. She's had multiple reconstrutive surgeries since Ellenbogen deformed her. She's had skin grafts, ear grafts, rib grafts, etc. I need all the same grafts too as he was so extreme with deforming me too.

Richard Ellenbogen even altered Nora's pictures. Who knows how many other people's photos he's altered and promoted on his website as a success? Then, to add insult to injury -- Dr. Richard Ellenbogen did insurance fraud and charged Nora's health insurance close to $40,000 -- even though she paid for her botched surgery out of pocket.

Dean informed me that on his board, the rhinoplastynetwork.com, at least 8-10 other people that he knows of who went to Richard Ellenbogen needed to get reconstructive surgery. Richard Ellenbogen was voted by users of that website as the "Worst Plastic Surgeon". Richard Ellenbogen was also voted the worst plastic surgeon on the Rhinoplasty4you.com

Terry went to Richard Ellenbogen for a primary and came out with her nose crooked, drastically over shortened, over rotated, and then it collapsed into a pollybeak deformity. Ellenbogen performed another unsuccessful surgery on her and then tried to inject silicon into her nose to try to correct the collapsing and pinching, but she stopped him. After going to Ellenbogen, Terry needed two very extensive reconstructive surgeries to fix her nose. Dr. R Daniels performed one and Dr. Dean T performed another.

I have the emails from the moderators of the Rhinoplasty4you.com -- they explain that they have had to delete the negative posts that unhappy patients have written about Ellenbogen for years. They are so tried of his threats, but also deeply bothered by how many people he has harmed.

I know several people who've been harmed by Ellenbogen. All of us will agree that going to Richard Ellenbogen was the worst thing that ever happened in our entire life. Additionally, Ellenbogen often injects large amounts of fat in peoples faces during his surgical procedures. Ellenbogen was supposed only supposed to put fat under Kat's eyes, but injected it all over her face. He did a similar thing with Janie and myself. 11/21/07 1 1 1 1 my wife went to him for a very minor change -- the tip of her nose was a little pinched on one side. ellenbogen removed 90% of the tip of her nose and made her nose look like 2 holes with almost no tip and no projection. she just paid over $30,000 for a reconstructive surgery using her rib to rebuild the tip. she needs another intense reconstructive surgery in a year because ellenbogen basically amputated the tip of her nose -- since going to him, she is unrecognizeable. she used to be gorgeous. many people think that he has an alcohol addiction. in any case, he seems to have no conscience.

10/19/07 1 3 1 1 I went in to have my tip redone and add fat to my face. I explained to him what I wanted done to my nose and he said he knew exactly what to do. He seemed so confident so I wasn't worried. OMG when the splint came off I was shocked. My nose is too short and slightly crooked. The fat he added makes me look totally different and not in a good way. I would definitely NOT recommend him. Now I have to find another surgeon and pay more money I don't have.

10/11/07 1 1 1 1 Dr. Ellenbogen is evil!!! money hungry and talentless. I find it funny that his staff wrote the only positive comment on him below. His staff is just as responsible for the pain he has caused in so many ppls lives. I had surgery with him 7 months ago. My nose is deformed and short. He also injected different amounts of fat in my face...making my face lopsided and fat. He will continuously lie to your face and ignore any problems you might have. In fact, once you pay him...you might as well forget trying to get him to talk with you. He will spend less than 5 mins seeing you before and after your surgery. Its pathetic that he is still praticing. He is so old!! almost 65+! PLEASE....do NOT bother seeing this so called "doctor"...you will save yourself from suffering his mutilating work. It will cost me almost $18000+ to fix what he has done to me. This man does not deserve to be called a doctor. SHAME ON HIM and HIS STAFF!!!

9/29/07 1 1 1 1 This doctor is notorious for treating patient care casually and without respect. His techniques are outdated, and his approach to rhinoplasty is to remove significant portions of your nose. His style is very 80's nose job - small and turned up. My sister had rhinoplasty with him and he destroyed her nose and then kicked her out of his office when she went back crying and asking what happened. Do NOT enter this surgeon's office. He does not even adhere to the lowest standard of care.

7/27/07 1 1 1 1 My sister went to Richard Ellenbogen b/c she thought he had a great website and he is famous. It turns out he pays for a lot of advertisements and has publicist -- so he is able to scam the public. He really destroyed my sister's nose. She's been crying and extrememly depressed ever since. He did not return her phone calls, and he told her that if she didn't want to look different, then she should not have had surgery. He told her that he's been doing noses for over 35 years -- clearly his techniques are completely out dated. He is a terrible man. My sister is suicidal. She has to undergo at least one 8 hour surgery that requires using part of her rib to reconstruct her nose. She found out that many of Ellenbogen's patients have to get their noses completely reconstructed. My sister used to be such a healthy, happy, outgoing person. Now, she won't leave her house because she looks so terrible thanks to Ellenbogen.

7/19/07 1 1 1 1 i spent 8000 on dr. ellenbgen to just adjust minor thing on my nose and he has completely changed the way i look. now not only do i look deformed i have completly lost my identity. the best revisionist in the world cannot even help me to revise his mess...i just dont understand how he can still be practicing out there. after me i saw so many other victims of dr. ellenbogens trying to repair their damages as well. words cannot describe what i went through and is going through... not knowing there is a light at the end of a tunnel. Beware of this doctor or do research and go to rhinoplasty forum to see if anyone have opinions of him. you will hear plenty!!! even old members can tell you that they havent heard anything good about him again

If you look above there's a series of photos of a collapsed, dented in, crooked nose -- above the photo of the other lady who has the "Signature Ellenbogus pig snout" -- Well here's what that lady wrote on ripoffreport.com -- she is one of many who was deformed by Richard Ellenbogen:

"I am a 22 year old female that wanted a slight cosmetic improvement on my nose. Richard Ellenbogen completely destroyed my nose and face. Because of what he did, I had to endure an expensive and difficult revision.

I found Richard Ellenbogen of Beverly Hills Body while he was featured on Dr. 90210. Thinking he was a renowned Rhinoplasty specialist, I went to consult with him. I was blinded by his self-proclaimed fame and supposed reputation / experience of being the best rhinoplasty surgeon.

I was told that he only operated on the tip of my nose. The days after the surgery, my family and I were in complete and utter shock. My face was deformed and my nose was MUTILATED and chopped off.

I questioned Richard Ellenbogen and his assistant Babak Dadvand and was instead ignored and rushed out of the office.

The have so many web pages that if someone googles, “best plastic surgeon, best cosmetic surgeon, best rhinoplasty doctor, or best revision rhinoplasty doctor,” their names appear first.

As if that’s not fraudulent and misleading enough, some of these “doctors” and their associates/publicists/staff, etc. lurk on plastic and cosmetic surgery internet chat rooms, doctors’ ratings sites and discussion boards and forums and pretend to be satisfied patients.

Richard Ellenbogen lurks on boards such as the Rhinoplasty network and Rhinoplasty4you, and sends lawsuit threats to the moderators when anyone posts negative things about him, which is quite frequent. His lawyer also sends threats to his victims that if they post about their terrible Ellenbogen outcomes. Then Ellenbogen has phony positive ratings and testimonials put up instead of the real horror stories that many of his victims post to try to warn others.

18 months ago my nightmare began. I live in San Diego and I was looking for a surgeon to perform a rhinoseptoplasty. In addition to having a hump on my nose, I had breathing problems too, so, I decided to address the functional and aesthetic part.

I read a lot of positive reviews about Richard Ellenbogen and had a consultation with him in Beverly Hills. He seemed very arrogant, tried to joke around to look more friendly, but I read so many reviews about him, on magazines, that I thought he must be good. He said that I needed a chin implant and fat grafting too.

I left his office with mixed feelings and I prayed god that night to give me a sign. After 33 minutes, I turn the TV on and I see him on Dr 90210. I thanked God for giving me this sign, I called his office on the following day, and I scheduled the surgery. I decided to have the chin implant and grafting too.

Needless to say, my nose has been amputated and I-m very unhappy. I-m devastated. Please don-t ever dare to say that I was vain and I didn't have to have the rhino in the first place. Because people who say that are letting surgeons butcher patients. I've just been to Rollin Daniel, a rhino specialist in Newport Beach, and he refused to touch me. He said that Ellenbogen destroys noses. I can't believe he did that to me. Rollin Daniel said that he would never operate on an Ellenbogen’s nose.

The worst part is that I was infected with hepatitis C during the surgery, during the fat grafting procedure. My life has been destroyed by this man. I could live with an amputated nose, even though it-s hard, but why was I infected?”

I'm half Greek and half Jewish, so, because of my background, I was born with a very prominent, long nose that was too big for my small face.

I had my first rhinoplasty a couple of years ago in Beverly Hills, because I was working in the US at that time and I had to live there an additional 7 months. My rhinoplasty was performed by Professor Richard Ellenbogen, who did an objectively poor job on me. I found out later that I couldn't find any bad reviews on the internet because Professor Doctor Richard Ellenbogen manages to delete all the negative articles on him, and harasses and threatens, mercilessly, all of his unhappy patients.

I wanted a conservative procedure aimed at reducing my nose, making it a bit more feminine but preserving my ethnicity. I was very impressed by all the articles and TV shows that talked about Professor Richard Ellenbogen.

The day of my surgery, performed in his suite in Los Angeles, which he claims to be an accredited AAA surgery center, he made me sign some papers. I already had an IV in my arm and was almost asleep because the anesthesia was kicking in. I later found out that the papers I signed were a waiver of any responsibility on his part. I'm not a lawyer, but have been working in the court and with lawyers as an interpreter for over 18 years, and have a very good understanding of legal matters. So, what he does is UNETHICAL!

After the surgery, this was a primary rhinoplasty, he said that he was very impressed and all his staff said that I was going to be overjoyed. But I couldn't wait to have the cast removed. I had my cast on for one week, and those were the longest seven days of my life. Because my nose was very itchy. I called his office and they said I shouldn't worry, it was normal.

When the cast came off, I had an ugly, vertical wound on the bridge of my nose and it was getting infected. Because of the way he put the cast on me and other factors, my skin got injured. I have to say that I wasn't thrilled with the result. It was not bad, but not good either. I would say, it was a slightly worse version of my original nose. And I had visible incisions at the base of my nostrils. He performed an alar base reduction on me without my consent or my knowledge!

I told him that I was unhappy, and he said that it was asymmetrical swelling. My nose got worse and worse, every week. The swelling was actually making it look better. It started falling apart, and at the one year mark, it was completely deformed. It looked like I had been in an accident. Scooped, without any support, twisted, with uneven nostrils, hanging columella and an open roof. I'm now looking for another surgeon who can repair it, even though everybody says that it's a very difficult case because Professor Richard Ellenbogen and his assistant created permanent problems.

And for the record, he charged my insurance company 50 thousand dollars. I had to pay 16 k.

I, too, was mutilated by Richard Ellenbogen, and his 'accomplices.'

I went to Richard Ellenbogen because I thought he must be good to be on TV and in magazines. Little did I know that he needs to pay for publicists and advertisements all the time because he has such an awful reputation. The only way he seems to be able to get patients is through buying himself fame and scamming the public.

Don't even trust the photos on his webpages. Richard Ellenbogen owns numerous webpages that look like testimonials for him, but probably all of them are photo shopped and full of bs.

Like the others who filed reports about Richard Ellenbogen, I too, was left with a deformed and mutilated nose that was extremely short, crooked and almost tipless with extreme nostril retraction.

I made the biggest mistake to let Ellenbogen operate on me twice. The second time around he even did more damage, and my entire nose collapsed.
Besides making me look deformed and like a pig, I was unable to breathe.

Richard Ellenbogen refused to give me a refund, and he tried to inject free floating silicon into my nose after he destroyed it. That is when I went to a doctor in Newport to try to reconstruct my nose. However, it was so destroyed, he was unable to give me much improvement.

Then, I had another reconstructive surgery in Chicago that improved my nose from the deformed and mutilated wreck that Richard Ellenbogen left me with.
Though, I still am not completely normal looking because of how drastically Richard Ellenbogen harmed me.

I need to get a lip lift to close this gigantic space between my nose and my lip that Richard Ellenbogen left me with.

Richard Ellenbogen is very nasty and arrogant, and many of the reconstructive surgeons that I have consulted with have told me that he is an alcoholic/drug addict. I can't state for a fact if this is true, but many of his peers say that they have seen him drunk and intoxicated at medical conferences, etc. Also, this would explain why so many people have been butchered by Richard Ellenbogen.

I truly feel that the there should be a class action lawsuit against the state of California for allowing Richard Ellenbogen to continue to practice since so many people including myself have filed extremely valid medical complaints against him.

The state of California has allowed other drug addict/alcoholics such as Jan Adams to mutilate and destroy people too. Jan Adams only got in trouble after he killed Kanye West's mom -- probably because it made the newspapers since she was a celebrity.

People have died from surgery with Richard Ellenbogen -- yet nothing has been done to stop him.

Richard Ellenbogen's 'accomplice' Babak Dadvand is not even certified, yet he does much of Ellenbogen's surgeries.

I suggest, if the news reads this -- they contact some of the people who have been mutilated and/or seriously harmed by Richard Ellenbogen. One lady is Nora, and if you google 'Nora's Ellenbogen' -- you will see her horrible results. Ellenbogen altered her photos and put him on his website as promotional material! Another victim of Richard Ellenbogen is Dean, the moderator of the Rhinoplastynetwork. Dean knows of many people who were harmed by Richard Ellenbogen. Dean had one reconstructive surgery since Ellenbogen's destruction of his nose, and he needs at least one more. His email is drbriggs7@aol.com

I know many that are interested in getting a class action lawsuit against Richard Ellenbogen including both of the other people who filed reports. However, the statute of limitations in California is one year. I feel that the statute should change or the state of California should be sued. California is very negligent for not revoking his license years ago.

“I had surgery with Richard Ellenbogen. I went to him to widen the tip of my nose -- instead he removed over 90% of the tip of my nose, he remove half the brige of my nose and nasal spine and shortened my septum. He charged me $12,000 and ruined my nose, and hence my face and my confidence.

Removing the tip of someone's nose is a barbaric form of punishment. Dr. Richard Ellenbogen did this form of horrible punishment to me -- he removed all the soft tissue, and cartilage from the tip of my nose and a good amount of the bridge of my nose. Before going to Richard Ellenbogen, I had a very tiny philtrum -- distance between my top lip and tip of my nose, after going to him the distance was huge and unattractive. He made my nose ridiculously and hideously short, flat, unprojected. It looked like the nose of someone with a congenitally short nose deformity. I explained to him that I am Mediterranean, Spanish, and Italian. I have an oval face, and it looks ridiculous with the SUPER short, flat, crooked weird nose he left me with.

Before him, I did not have nostril show, after, I had complete nostril retraction. After going to him, one could see inside my nostrils when I look straight ahead. He literally, turned my long, elegant nose that had a nice projected tip into something that resembled a pig snout. This "pig snout" nose makes my face look mean and low class. Before going to Ellenbogen, I was always told that I had an elegant, pretty and sweet look to my face.

Attached are photos of pictures of other people Richard Ellenbogen deformed and left with short, crooked, "pig snout noses". However, with me -- he was MUCH more extreme. He removed all the anatomy inside my tip and half way up my bride!!

Even my own parents could not recognize me after how drastically Richard Ellenbogen ruined my nose, and as a result the balance and the harmony of my face. It breaks my heart that I cannot recognize my face, and that I have lost my character and my ethnicity. I told him that I was a former model, and I made a living off of my looks. I explained that I live a very social life and my image is very important to me. I told him that I do not want and obvious change -- what he did to me was beyond extreme.

He also cut certain muscles that affect my smile -- which I did not give him consent to do. After my surgery, Richard Ellenbogen never returned even one of my phone calls even though I insisted that I was suffering from severe panic attacks because of how drastically and horribly different I looked because of him.

To this day, I suffer from anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress syndrome, nightmares -- all because of what Richard Ellenbogen did to me. He ruined my face and my confidence. I can no longer keep a job. I can no longer go out and see my friends or family because I look so horrible and they tell me that I do. They ask me why I did this to my face -- they don't understand. Every time I look in the mirror, I cry -- it's still devasting.

Yet Richard Ellenbogen appeared on Television and media interviews shortly after our debacles with him promoting himself on CBS and other channels as "An artist who accidentally became a plastic surgeon." He said he thinks of his job as "making people beautiful and happy." I was fooled too by how the media has promoted this man.

He says on his web site that secondary rhinoplasty is for adding and augmenting -- he writes " tissue is generally removed from various areas during the primary surgery, whereas it is often added in the secondary procedure" . He told me that he was going to add cartilage to my tip.

Meanwhile -- he instead of adding he removed abut half of my nose.

In my opinion, he is delusional if he thinks he makes people happy and beautiful. Many of us have never looked worse or been as unhappy in our lives until after Ellenbogen operated on us. In my opinion, Dr. Richard Ellenbogen is an evil psychopath who enjoys ruining people's faces and lives.

Responsible plastic surgeons of this modern day preserve the structure, tissue, and cartilage of the nose, but not Richard Ellenbogen. His techniques appear to be beyond ancient and outdated. He seems to be just sloppy and careless with his work.

Dr. T said he cannot even begin to understand what goes on in Richard Ellenbogen's head that he does such horribly destructive and aesthetically unpleasing things with people's faces.

I, paid $30,000 to Dr. T from Chicago, who used my rib cartilage to try to reconstruct my nose. He told me that "Dr. Ellenbogen made my nose almost impossible to fix because of how much soft tissue he removed. Therefore, I was not able to get much improvement from the damage that Richard Ellenbogen did to me, and I am left with an oddly short, flat, upturned nose. I may get another surgery to try to correct this more later when my nose heals more.

On the very same day when I went to first consult with Dr. T, just by coincidence, I sat next to two other ladies who had also been severely harmed by Richard Ellenbogen. Their names are Terry and Ki. It was just a chance meeting for all of us. I was told by the people that work at Dr. T's office that Dr. T sees more messed up people from Richard Ellenbogen than from any other doctor.

Ellenbogen left Ki with many open wounds -- he cut out pieces of each of her nostrils and under her nose too. She had gone to him to straighten her septum and she left with her face mutilated and deformed. She's had multiple reconstructive surgeries since Ellenbogen deformed her. She's had skin grafts, ear grafts, rib grafts, etc. I need all the same grafts too as he was so extreme with deforming me too.

Richard Ellenbogen even altered Nora's pictures. Who knows how many other people's photos he's altered and promoted on his website as a success? Then, to add insult to injury -- Dr. Richard Ellenbogen did insurance fraud and charged Nora's health insurance close to $40,000 -- even though she paid for her botched surgery out of pocket.

Dean informed me that on his board, the rhinoplastynetwork.com, at least 8-10 other people that he knows of who went to Richard Ellenbogen needed to get reconstructive surgery. Richard Ellenbogen was voted by users of that website as the "Worst Plastic Surgeon". Richard Ellenbogen was also voted the worst plastic surgeon on the Rhinoplasty4you.com

Terry went to Richard Ellenbogen for a primary and came out with her nose crooked, drastically over shortened, over rotated, and then it collapsed into a pollybeak deformity. Ellenbogen performed another unsuccessful surgery on her and then tried to inject silicon into her nose to try to correct the collapsing and pinching, but she stopped him. After going to Ellenbogen, Terry needed two very extensive reconstructive surgeries to fix her nose. Dr. R Daniels performed one and Dr. Dean T performed another.

I have the emails from the moderators of the Rhinoplasty4you.com -- they explain that they have had to delete the negative posts that unhappy patients have written about Ellenbogen for years. They are so tried of his threats, but also deeply bothered by how many people he has harmed.

I know several people who've been harmed by Ellenbogen. All of us will agree that going to Richard Ellenbogen was the worst thing that ever happened in our entire life. Additionally, Ellenbogen often injects large amounts of fat in peoples faces during his surgical procedures. Ellenbogen was supposed only supposed to put fat under Kat's eyes, but injected it all over her face. He did a similar thing with Janie and myself. Of course, California has almost no regulations for plastic surgeons -- Drug addicts can still practice medicine in California.

Please look up the website that Dr. Brian West's patients made for him -- he is another Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon. West already had 2 DUIs, and he failed the rehab diversion program at least once.

What people don't realize is that any quack can get in magazines and on TV shows such as Dr. Phil, CNN & Oprah including Jan Adams, Michael Evan Sachs and Brad Jacobs -- all addicts who have finally lost their medical licenses. Bad doctors often hire publicists to get them on TV and to get fame back that is really the only way for them to get themselves patients when they can't get them through word or mouth or a good merited reputation.

Check out Dr. Richard Ellenbogen's many horrific ratings from ratemds.com -- Ellenbogen continually has his lawyers threaten to delete and remove his ratings. Therefore his ratings get continually removed, and then he replaces them with phony positive ratings.

11/21/07 1 1 1 1 my wife went to him for a very minor change -- the tip of her nose was a little pinched on one side. ellenbogen removed 90% of the tip of her nose and made her nose look like 2 holes with almost no tip and no projection. she just paid over $30,000 for a reconstructive surgery using her rib to rebuild the tip. she needs another intense reconstructive surgery in a year because ellenbogen basically amputated the tip of her nose -- since going to him, she is unrecognizable. she used to be gorgeous. many people think that he has an alcohol addiction. in any case, he seems to have no conscience.

10/19/07 1 3 1 1 I went in to have my tip redone and add fat to my face. I explained to him what I wanted done to my nose and he said he knew exactly what to do. He seemed so confident so I wasn't worried. OMG when the splint came off I was shocked. My nose is too short and slightly crooked. The fat he added makes me look totally different and not in a good way. I would definitely NOT recommend him. Now I have to find another surgeon and pay more money I don't have.

His staff is just as responsible for the pain he has caused in so many ppls lives. I had surgery with him 7 months ago. My nose is deformed and short. He also injected different amounts of fat in my face...making my face lopsided and fat. He will continuously lie to your face and ignore any problems you might have. In fact, once you pay him...you might as well forget trying to get him to talk with you. He will spend less than 5 mins seeing you before and after your surgery. Its pathetic that he is still practicing. He is so old!! almost 65+! PLEASE....do NOT bother seeing this so called "doctor"...you will save yourself from suffering his mutilating work. It will cost me almost $18000+ to fix what he has done to me. This man does not deserve to be called a doctor. SHAME ON HIM and HIS STAFF!!!

His techniques are outdated, and his approach to rhinoplasty is to remove significant portions of your nose. His style is very 80's nose job - small and turned up. My sister had rhinoplasty with him and he destroyed her nose and then kicked her out of his office when she went back crying and asking what happened. Do NOT enter this surgeon's office. He does not even adhere to the lowest standard of care.

7/27/07 1 1 1 1 My sister went to Richard Ellenbogen b/c she thought he had a great website and he is famous. It turns out he pays for a lot of advertisements and has publicist -- so he is able to scam the public. He really destroyed my sister's nose. She's been crying and extremely depressed ever since. He did not return her phone calls, and he told her that if she didn't want to look different, then she should not have had surgery. He told her that he's been doing noses for over 35 years -- clearly his techniques are completely out dated. He is a terrible man. My sister is suicidal. She has to undergo at least one 8 hour surgery that requires using part of her rib to reconstruct her nose. She found out that many of Ellenbogen's patients have to get their noses completely reconstructed. My sister used to be such a healthy, happy, outgoing person. Now, she won't leave her house because she looks so terrible thanks to Ellenbogen.

7/19/07 1 1 1 1 i spent 8000 on dr. ellenbgen to just adjust minor thing on my nose and he has completely changed the way i look. now not only do i look deformed i have completely lost my identity. the best revisionist in the world cannot even help me to revise his mess...i just dont understand how he can still be practicing out there. after me i saw so many other victims of dr. ellenbogens trying to repair their damages as well. words cannot describe what i went through and is going through... not knowing there is a light at the end of a tunnel. Beware of this doctor or do research and go to rhinoplasty forum to see if anyone have opinions of him. you will hear plenty!!! even old members can tell you that they haven’t heard anything good about him again

He's also at the center of one of New York's most sensational medical-malpractice scandals in recent history. Over the course of the last eight years, Jacobs has settled or lost at least 26 malpractice lawsuits filed against him, and more are working their way through the courts. In late June, the state Department of Health suspended his license to practice medicine, and Jacobs is now fighting to save his career. State medical investigators have charged him with a wide range of misconduct, including giving his patients boob jobs that were much bigger than they requested, failing to treat a patient's abscess after surgery, humiliating a patient by undressing her post-operative wounds in front of Jacobs's then girlfriend, and removing too much cartilage from a patient's nose during rhinoplasty. In the most shocking case, state investigators claim that Jacobs smoked crystal meth with one of his patients, had sex with her while she was recuperating from a nose job, and ultimately deformed her face . . .

SACRAMENTO, California (CNN) -- A woman who says she had to forgo cancer treatment because of botched surgery by a California doctor says she was never made aware the doctor was being treated for alcoholism and had been convicted for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Becky Anderson received a breast reconstruction from Dr. Brian West, a California plastic surgeon, in September 2000. Becky, who was suffering from breast cancer, says she had to forgo cancer treatment while battling complications from West's surgery.

Now she is dying of cancer. She had no idea when she let West treat her that he had been convicted for driving under the influence in 1987 and had been arrested for a second DUI, for which he was later convicted, while on the way to treat her.

after researching and seeing dr.ellenbogens site i was impressed and i went in for minor thing to adjust on my nose. turned out now i am completely deformed with uneveness ,really upturn and short nose...and after several surgeries still doesnt look normal.this has been the biggest mistake of my life. i shouldve researched in dept about this doctor instead of just believing what i saw on website. now i am searching for top revisionists to help me to look somewhat normal again and already so many doctors have turned me down. this really has changed my life in all aspects and has completely paralyzed me in so many ways. if i can give one advise do reaseach and research before you jump in. go to nose forum and hear what other peoples ACTUAL experience and see their photos. it has been over a year now and i am still in a mission to find someone who can help me...

Most Doctors With Violations Keep Their License

Of the more than 13,000 doctors in the United States who have been disciplined for serious incompetence or misconduct, most retain their licenses and continue to treat patients, according to a study by a Washington health group.

The Health Research Group, part of the Ralph Nader organization Public Citizen, issued the report yesterday and named the 13,012 doctors who had been disciplined by Federal or state agencies. The study noted that "fewer than a third of the country's questionable doctors are prevented from practicing by the state medical boards and Federal agencies charged with monitoring them."

Dr. Sidney Wolfe, director of the research group, said: "If a pilot is caught using drugs or alcohol, or is found incompetent, that pilot is gone. But in medicine, the system is both weak and chaotic. The same offense in one state gets no punishment, while in another it means his license is revoked.

Pilots are under a national system of certification, but doctors are regulated by a patchwork of state medical boards and Federal agencies. "

In California -- doctors can get literally get away with murder.

Plastic/cosmetic/ elective surgery is on the rise these days, largely due to how it’s been marketed and promoted by the media. With shows such as Extreme Makeover and Dr. 90210 showing amazing transformations that seem simple and harmless, more and more people are undergoing elective procedures and shocked by terrible outcomes, blindness, and even death.

Furthermore, as TV doctors continue appearing as guests on Oprah, Dr. Phil, Dateline, . . . Etc, the public perceives highly risky surgical procedures as safe and harmless. However, what people don’t know is the nonfiction horror stories that frequently happen during and/or after patients go in for an image and/or visual improvement.

Many times, the doctors we see on entertainment Television shows are not on those shows because they are more talented or more qualified than other doctors who practice in those same areas of expertise. Rather, the reverse of that can likely be true.

Often the doctors that we see on TV entertainment shows are the doctors that hire publicists to get them fame so that they can get patients. Most good, quality doctors are too busy already by doing great work, and hence getting patients through word of mouth, rather than through TV shows.

Yet, the public is not aware of how publicists work, so they assume that the doctors they see on TV are expertly qualified and were chosen to be on TV because of their skill and expertise. The public also confuses doctors who are featured in magazines as experts in their field. Again, this is often not the case.

For example, “Dr.” Richard Ellenbogen who was featured on the television show “Dr. 90210” and who was a guest on Oprah, Dr. Phil and featured in numerous magazines is infamous for, in my opinion, and in the opinion of many other patients, for ruining their faces.

He is considered amongst many reconstructive surgeons, as “One of the worst and most drastic surgeons around, and an embarrassment to the plastic medical field.” Unfortunately, I, like many others of his victims, found out after he ruined my face.

Like many of his victims, I assumed that he must be expertly qualified to be featured in so many magazines and on television. Before my surgery with him, I had seen him on the TV show, “Dr. 90210” and in People Magazine.
I assumed that the media researched him and found him to be skillful and talented in order to feature him. Little did I know that the media tends not to research or fact check the backgrounds and qualifications of the “doctors” it features.

The media is highly irresponsible at background and qualification checks. The producers and publishers of magazines, newspapers and television shows take the promotional kits that the publicists write and submit as facts rather than as advertisements for scam artists/unethical “doctors”. Once a “doctor” has been featured in one magazine or show, others will feature that same “doctor” without any fact checking to see if this “doctor” is board certified or if he has malpractice cases, etc.

All areas of cosmetic, plastic and elective medicine attract a large percentage of unethical, money hungry, greedy, ego maniacs that give the title “Doctor” a bad name. The elective sector of medicine allows for “Doctors” to have patients sign away their rights. Plus, it allows “Doctors” to get paid huge sums of money. Other areas of medicine, the HMOs and PPOs restrict how much a doctor earns. With elective procedures, they often get paid directly in cash and do not declare their most of their income.

Elective medicine is the area of medicine that allows for “Doctors” to earn the most and have the least amount of oversight, rules, regulations or liability. This field of medicine attracts many very bad and unconscionable people. I am not saying that all doctors that perform cosmetic/plastic or other types of elective surgeries and procedures are unethical or bad, and not all famous doctors are scam artists, but I am saying that a good number of bad people do enter these fields of medicine.

It is a psychopath’s dream to be a plastic surgeon, and the sad truth is that many psychopaths are, in fact plastic and/or cosmetic surgeons. Psychopaths enjoy harming others and feel no remorse when they do so. Therefore, a plastic surgeon is the perfect job for someone with no conscience, morals, or ethics. The “doctor” is given an amazing legal opportunity to put the innocent patient to sleep and then mutilate them because the “doctor” has a medical degree. The “doctor” also had the patient sign a waiver that basically states that the procedure that the patient will get can result in serious injury and/or death. What a fantastic gig for someone who enjoys harming others!! This is why there are so many very evil people that practice this field of medicine.

Psychopathic plastic surgeons are about as common as pedophiles who are Preists. Just as being a priest was the best way for a pedophile to have a well respected job and open access to children and trust from innocent people, plastic surgeons are given a job with great respect and amazing pay as well as great access to trusting innocent victims. Is there any other profession in the world where someone can have people sign away their rights, pay them large amounts of money, get put to sleep and then get harmed in their sleep?

I feel so betrayed by the medical system for not protecting us, the people of the United States. The medical system does not regulate doctors as closely as you would think. In order for them to maintain their certifications, doctors just need to fill out and mail in some forms. They have some required conference hours, but at those conferences they are not given graded tests, asked to perform new techniques, and often they aren’t even checked for attendance. If the sign the sign in sheet and then leave, they will be counted as if they were at the conference. Many doctors use medical conferences as free trips. They get to choose where they’d like to go for their conference. So, then they go to some exotic destination, get a free hotel room, free food, and miss the conference lectures. Still, because they make sure to sign in at the conference, they get credit for they’re required “continuation of training.”

This picture doesn't need any additional comments. This poor lady had her nose literally amputated and made crooked by Richard Ellenbogen. When this lady tried to express her concerns, Richard Ellenbogen and his staff threatened her, harassed her on the internet, made her look crazy and did everything in order to discredit her.
It's amazing that Richard Ellenbogen is still doing surgery after ruining so many lives. He was also sued for wrongful death. He pays obscene amounts of money to webmasters to have the negative posts about him deleted and replaced with phony ones. Marianne Guarena was the owner of a website devoted to plastic surgery. Marianne Guarena contributed to Richard Ellenbogen's crimes and she got paid every month to mercilessly promote him.
Richard Ellenbogen MUST lose his license. He can't get away with ruining people's lives.

What "Dr." Richard Ellenbogen did to my wife's nose is even worse than what he did to this lady's nose. By the way, this lady's name is Nora, and she needed 5 very intensive reconstructive surgeries spread out over 4 and a half years to make her nose look normal because of how drastic and extreme Richard Ellenbogen was with harming her. She still has visible scars on her nostrils because Ellenbogen put the stiches too tight. My wife is friends with her.
My wife already had one very extensive reconstructive surgery with rib and ear graft to try to rebuild her nose -- Ellenbogen literally removed an inch of it, and left her with 2 holes -- just nostrils and a tiny part of her bridge.
She is still missing almost all of the tip and has to wear a prosthetic nose.

He also did insurance fraud and billed her insurance $40,000 -- after she had paid in full for her surgery. She never got a refund from him and was unable to sue him because his 10 page waiver that he has patients sign basically say that people can end up mutilated, deformed, etc. --

Although it is rumored that Dr. Richard Ellenbogen of Beverly Hills is an alcoholic -- many people suspect that he is also a psychopath who has no conscience and who deliberately mutilates and deforms people. He buys himself fame through paying huge amounts for publicists, advertisements (many false) such as claiming that he is the best nasal reconstructionist, and he puts up phony promos and positive testimonials througout the internet.
Then, Ellenbogen bullies and threatens lawsuits on sites like this one where his devasted patients post pictures, ratings, etc. He is continually getting the dirt on him scrubbed clean. Then replacing the dirt with fake good ratings, and therefore luring more innocent victims into his evil hands.
Hence, many, many people end up with faces that are destroyed and completely unfixeable -- permanently ruined because of Dr. Ellenbogen's extreme deliberate methods of destruction.
It is shocking that he still has his license, but Dr. West also has his license too -- both are Beverly Hills plastic surgeons.

Many of us who have been

Many of us who have been butchered by Ellenbogen have contacted all the media outlets that promoted him. Yet, they have not taken us up on our offer to discuss him as the media is irreponsible for promoting him without properly fact or background checking on him.

The thing is those of us who did contact the media -- we are willing to do interviews, but we are so humilated by how horrifically he messed up our faces -- we want part of our faces covered up. It is beyond painful to look in the mirror or show or faces in public.
See Nora's picture -- well Ellenbogen removed even more of my nose than he did to her -- and to be on TV and show people is very difficult. There are a couple people that I know of who committed suicide after going to him.

Nora's outcome is a very typical "Dr. Ellenbogen" outcome -- he makes noses super short, crooked with extreme nostril retraction, the tips lack projection and are chopped off. Additionally he cuts the muscle above the top lip to make it hang even lower to create a super masculine looking large space between the nose and the lip. In my opinion, Richard Ellenbogen goes out of his way to make noses unfixeable and faces that were once pretty ugly and unrecognizeable.

A bunch of us got together and contacted Oprah, Dr. Phil, etc and never heard back from them. We assume they are afraid to be liable for us going to him in the first place. They are the reason many of us did go to him -- we thought we could trust Oprah and Dr. Phil -- they promoted this man.

Similarly Oprah had Jan Adams, Brad Jacobs, and Michael Evan Sachs on her show -- they like Richard Ellenbogen were plastic surgeons that continually mutilated people, and all of them finally lost their medical license. They, like Ellenbogen had to pay publicists and buy themselves fame b/c that was the only way they could possibly get patients.
Ellenbogen continues on freely for some reason -- mainly thanks to his 10 page waiver. He hand writes in more things to his waiver saying that the patient may never recognize their face again, and that the may need several very intensive reconstructive surgeries after going to him, etc. I went to him for a very simple and subtle nose surgery and came out with over half of my nose chopped off.

Holy Toledo - that is the reason they will never have any mangled patient on the show.

Can't say it is legally their fault though - because they would have to be liable for referring anyone for anything.
I do believe that up to now, people got more facts about a car shop before fixing their car than fixing their face.
Sites like this one is changing that - thank goodness!!
Patients like yourselves might consider picketing this dr. in front of his office with pictures of mangled patients.
Check the law FIRST but in most stated it is entirely legal to do so.

You know what -- there was a lady who picketed outside Ellenbogen's office for an entire year with a sign that said, "DR. ELLENBOGEN RUINED MY SISTER'S FACE" -- this was 5 years ago when he was on Dr. 90210.

Ellenbogen and some other unethical, greedy plastic surgeons hire publicists to write & submit phony promos about them. Their promos claim that they are the best plastic surgeons -- they make up phony awards, phony qualifications. They alter their patient before and after photos. They claim to be certified experts in techniques that they no nothing about. For example, on some of Ellenbogen's promos, he claims that he reconstructs noses with rib and ear cartilage -- he has no experience using either type of cartilage correctly.

He tried using ear on several of his victims that I met including the lady whose pic is posted on this thread. What he does is he ends up harming the ears and throwing out the cartilage in addition to the tip cartilage, etc that is supposed to be in the nose.
Yet, the media fails to do any background checks to see if the promotional material submitted by such scam artist doctors is legit. So, then the horrible doctor will get promoted in a magazine or on TV as an expert in his field. Once he's promoted in one magazine or on one show, then every show will use him as a guest. For example, he'll submit to CNN that he was on NBC as an expert, then NBC will invite him on their show with no background check, and they'll introduce him as the "World Renowed Rhinoplasty Expert, Dr. Richard Ellenbogen". Then, the magazines will publish the same thing.
Right before going to him, I read this multipage article in People Magazine about how he is the best doctor, and fixes everyone elses' mistakes. I thought, the media was based on facts. Little did I know how publicity, marketing and advertisments work. He paid to have an article promoting himself that his publicist wrote about him featured in the magazines!
Since Richard Ellenbogen has been featured on shows from all the major networks, it is impossible to get other shows to out him like 20/20 or Dateline. Normally those investigative reporting shows would expose such fraud, but then, because they are owned by a network that where other shows featured him -- they can't then say -- "Hey, our network failed to do proper background checks, and promoted some horribly bad, unqualified doctor . . . . "

Or maybe they will if it gets bad enough -- they pretty much had to do this when Jan Adams killed Kanye West's mom.
Thankfully, there are forums like this one where people are learning to go to properly fact check their doctors. Even so, I can tell that Ellenbogen and his staff have put up quite a few phony positive ratings for him on here. Hopefully, people will read the negative ones and feel warned.

I hope that people will get educated not to trust the media, and to understand how marketing/publicity works. I hope that people will be skeptical of things -- like when you google "Best revision rhinoplasty surgeon" or "Best plastic Surgeon" -- his name will show up first and there will be 10 pages that he owns that show up that look like real testimonials.

Ellenbogen goes out of his way to mislead and misinform the public. His staff and him lurk on many of the plastic surgery chat rooms and attack patients who talk about how he harmed them. He tries to discredit and invalidate his victims and he labels them with BDD. Then, he has his lawyer send them threats demanding that all of their posts get removed. Ellenbogen also sends threats to the owners of these chat rooms, and if that doesn't work he bribes them.

He paid off the owners of Rhinoplasty4you -- for years. They would get monthly financial compensation in exchange for deleting his unhappy patients' posts. Ellenbogen also created his own rhinoplasty board that was supposed to be an unbiased public board -- but he secretly owned it. The levels of low and slimy that this man goes to is just shocking.
Ellenbogen has an obsession with removing the internal tips of peoples' noses. He loves to specalize in rhinoplasty b/c he double and triple bills. He charges the patient a fortune, then he charges their insurance and claims that he had to do extreme reconstruction to fix their breathing, etc.

He wrote on the waiver, that I should have written that my nose was severly complex to fix -- (which it was not -- but he destroyed it) -- and yet he spent 20 minutes on my surgery -- he just removed the internal anatomy and went home. If someone has a very complex nose to fix -- it would take 3 hours to do.

With Michael Evan Sachs who is also a media hound, and finally lost his license, Sachs would buy stock photos of beautiful models. He would photoshoppe their faces to make them look deformed and ugly -- and label those pics the "Before Sachs" photos -- then the after photos were their real photos. His whole website was fake photos! Again, Oprah did not check any of this out before promoting him.

There seems to be no agencies that do fact or background checks on doctors' websites. They can claim certifications, qualifications, etc that they don't have. The can claim to be Harvard Grads, Highest honors, -- they can lie and deceive people all they want, and nothing seems to happen to them. People have complained to the medical boards, and again, nothing happened to these guys.
I just hope that people learn not to trust the media at all.

Here, unless a complaint goes to "discipline", it doesn't go on the record. It's ridiculous because the doctor could have a hundred complaints against him for all the public knows, and he could have actually had some "learning", or "caution", but if it's not "discipline", there is no record. Ridiculous. And in my opinion, you really can't trust the medical boards because of this little game.

you're exactly right -- it only shows up if he's been disciplined. his waivers that patients sign basically give him the free for all to completely mutilate and **** us. so, then the boards don't discipline him b/c they say we signed the contract understanding that we could end up with our noses and faces destroyed, etc.
i know of so many people including myself who have filed complaints against him.

I wonder why that is that they can receive untold numbers of complaints and keep it a secret? It just doesn't seem right to me.
I do realize that there may be a large number of frivolous complaints, and I do realize that sometimes education is enough, but when there are numerous valid complaints, I don't understand how and why they keep that confidential, and how they decide that it doesn't need to go to "discipline".
I don't think that protects the patient very well.

I may be crazy, but I think most people have a bit of this for some part of their body.
I guess it's the degree of the problem that makes a difference, and whether it bothers the person or others.
Obviously, the fact that people wouldn't like his/her nosejobs, and be critical of his/her work, would be a problem for the doctor.
Like some other doctors, I'm guessing maybe he/she just doesn't like taking blame or responsibility for anything.
So - it's a problem for him or her - the fact that they don't like their nose.
Hence, BDD.
Kind of like saying my vision was 20/25 when it was 20/200.
Is there a psychiatric diagnosis for doctors of this type?

In canada we can speak to The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario they put the Doctor up on the board,each Physician should respect and support the public policy goals of the Ontario Human Rights Code: and to recognize the dignity and worth of every person and to provide for equal rights and opportunities without discrimination that is contrary to law... so why is this doctor ok'd to keep hurting people is there a diff law have you looked it up, just asking cause no one need to be hurt in anyway,

BDD is body dismorphic disorder -- it's when someone imagines flaws in their appearance. After "Dr." Richard Ellenbogen mutilates people's noses or faces,or bodies, and they confront him about it -- he tells them that he gave them a perfect nose, or perfect eyelift, perfect etc. and whatever flaws they think they have, they are imagining, and they clearly have BDD. That's what he told this lady whose picture is posted.

He told the same thing to me after he butchered me, and he says the same thing to everyone who is just devasted and in shock by how unrecognizeable and how hideous they look after he destroys various parts of our face and bodies.
He claims that he gave all of us perfect outcomes, and we are all crazy and imagining flaws that don't exist!! In my opinion -- he's the one who is crazy, and truly evil.
As for Misfit, in the US -- doctors also take an oath to do no harm. Yet, there are some truly evil doctors who do not honor that oath, and laws are not tightly enforced in many states. California is very liberal and allows drug addicts and alcoholics to continue practicing medicine, and the patients don't even know their doctors are addicts -- it's kept private from us.
Also, California has a 1 year Statute of limitations, and usually, the first year out of surgery, Ellenbogen's patients are suffering so much post traumatic stress it's hard to take action. Many people have approached lawyers interested in suing him, but his 10 page waivers, plus added comments he writes in about how we can be left needing mutiple intensive reconstructive surgeries after surgery with him & how other people can be performing our surgery instead of him -- makes sure that the patient loses all rights.
Even the lady who was left with foreign peices of plastic in her nose had a hard time finding a lawyer who would represent her against Richard Ellenbogen. In his waiver, it says something about how the patient must have 5 expert plastic surgeons who have the same number of years of experience as Ellenbogen -- well the man is almost 70 years old!
How many other plastic surgeons that old can someone find to testify against him?! To gather that many "experts" who are welling to rat out a collegue. So, the lady just gave up on suing him, just like most of us did -- it was so much work, and we had such limited time to do it. Plus, we were and still are suffering from such severe shock and horror.
Further injustice is that some how Richard Ellenbogen manages to have a fellowship program where he trains freshly out med students how to also deform and destroy peoples' faces and bodies. I've been told by his peers, that Ellenbogen has these inexperienced, non board certified doctors perform our entire surgery -- while he stands by their side and gets arroused by seeing people get destroyed.
There's an episode of Dr. 90210 where Richard Ellenbogen gives one of his fellows his scalpel in the middle of a rhinoplasty, and tells him, "here -- you try doing this." It's on camera!

If you look on his website -- their are pictures of two very young handsome guys -- "Dr." Dadvand and "Dr." Neavin -- Ellenbogen is training both of them. One of Ellenbogen's collegues told me Ellenbogen has a strong attraction for young, handsome men and creates fellowship programs so that he can be surrounded by them. If you research him even further, you will find that over the years Richard Ellenbogen has provided fellowship programs for many young, handsome men. After he finishes training them, he begs them to stay and join his practice, and they almost all immediately decline the offer and go elsewhere.

These young, handsome inexperienced doctors love the opportunity to get fame & publicity just by being associated with Ellenbogen who is a media hound. Plus, they get to treat Ellenbogens' patients like lab rats and do whatever they want to us. So, for them, they get fame and access to human lab rats.

However, if these fellows regarded Ellenbogen highly, they would remain in practice with him once they finish their fellowship -- yet -- they don't. They leave immediately. You can see this on the Dr. 90210 episodes with his former fellows "Dr." Youn, and "Dr." Motikie. On the show -- Ellenbogen tries so hard to convince his fellows to stay at his practice Beverly Hills Body.

If Ellenbogen was truly a good doctor and easy to get along with, I'm sure his fellows would stay. But they are using him for fame and experience, and he is using them to help destroy peoples' lives.
I talked on the phone and in person to his fellow, Babak Dadvand, and asked him if he did my surgery -- I couldn't understand how an experienced doctor could **** someone so severely. Dadvand explained to me that I signed a waiver acknowedging that people other than Ellenbogen could do my surgery, and he admitted that as part of his fellowship training he had to perform on Ellenbogens' patients. Then, he said, "I am only one year out of med school." How scary is that that a one year out med school student had free access to perform nasal surgery on me??
Richard Ellenbogen is beyond UNETHICAL AND UNCONSCIONABLE to advertise and promote himself as the leading plastic surgeon and rhinoplasty expert and then have fresh out of school students do the surgeries for him!! Ellenbogen truly displays so manny characteristics of a psychopath -- He is arrogant, greedy, dishonest, lies, harms people without guilt, misleads people, etc.
In my opinion, Richard Ellenbogen hates women, and wants to make women as ugly and as deformed looking as possible. I have met too many women who were so beautiful before they had surgery with him, and just wanted a very minor improvement -- then came out mutilated. Perhaps b/c Ellenbogen himself is so unattractive -- he is truly objectively not good looking -- perhaps women rejected him in school or something, and he's decided ever since to destroy as many women as he can.
I wish there was a way for everyone who has had their life ruined by "Dr." Ellenbogen to find justice. The only real justice would be to look like we did before he harmed us, and for us to get all the money and time we lost back -- but I think that would require a time machine.
Additionally, the medical system in America needs to have much tighter regulations and oversight. Doctors should be drug tested randomly. When there are complaints filed against doctors, these complaints should be available for the public to see. Inexperience, unqualified doctors should not be given fellowship programs to perform surgeries on living human beings -- they should only practice on cadavers -- or willing participants who are verbally told upfront what is going to happen.
There should be great regulation on which doctors can have fellowship programs . . . No one else should end up mutilated by American doctors. This is not a third world country!!

Sadd world we live in can't go to a doctor with out worring if hes doing good for you i guess you just have to go with what your heart tells you my Doctor came to my home and said sorry to me she said it was wrong the way i was treated, and would like to help me more things do look good for me in many ways but for many its heart stopping i'm teary eyes to know that many has to fight to be healed, yet we will never see whats in each Doctors heart they will pass judgement and call you a druggie maybe someday this will change until then we must smile and pray for the best

Dr. Richard Ellenbogen. He tends to remove all of the internal anatomy from the tips of the nose up the nasal spine -- all the soft tissue and cartilage, and he leaves people with 2 nostrils.

He cuts muscles above the top lip in addition to severely and drastically over shortening and under projecting the nose -- so that women are left with a hideously unattractive and masculine looking very large space between their nose and lip.

He often spends less than 20 minutes on the nasal part of the surgery, and leaves people so deformed looking, they can never be fixed.

I'm Faustinha. I'm from Ohio. My parents are both Brazilian, from Sao Paulo. being brazilian, I have an ethnic nose. I was looking for a plastic surgeon specialized in ethnic noses since I'm brazialian/black. I flew to Los Angeles a few weeks ago to consult with Richard Ellenbogen, MD. I read very positive things about him on the National Enquirer. I saw him on TV and thought that he must be very good with noses. I consulted him a few weeks ago and he gave me a very bad vibe. They say always trust your gut feeling. My gut feeling was very negative. Anyway, he acted like he's the guy. He told me that everybody goes to him to have their noses fixed after multiple revisions. I told him that I wanted to consult with Guyuron here in Ohio and Pastorek and he showed me a few pictures which, according to him, were patients who went to Guyuron and Pastorek and were dissatisfied and then went to Ellenbogen to have their noses fixed. He came across as a very sexist man, with a very unpleasant sense of humor. But that's beside the point. He had to do my nose, we weren't supposed to get along on a personal level. He was very confident in his skills. He suggested a chin implant and blepharoplasty too. Even though I didn't like his attitude, I scheduled my surgery and gave a deposit. Now I want to cancel, but they don't want to refund me.
I came back home and I started doing my research. I basically wanted more evidence that he was the best and that I was wrong not trusting him. I was able to touch base with two of his patients who are extremely unhappy. I saw them on a webcam and I have to say none of them had a nose left. They both had skin with two holes. No underlying structure. The interesting thing is that their photos are on Ellenbogen's website. Richard Ellenbogen put their pictures without their permission. It's a long tricky story I'm not willing to disclose. The pictures on his website of these two ladies look very good, but their noses don't even remotely resemble the pix on Ellenbogen's site. They told me that their pix were taken only 6 weeks post op, when the swelling was still hiding the major deformities they were left with. Also, Ellenbogen takes after pictures in such a way, with light and other tricks to make them look like perfect noses.
My questions are 1) how could I get a refund? 2) how is it possible that a doctor puts photos on his website which are so misleading?

Richard Ellenbogen! Going to him was the absolute worst mistake I ever made in my life, and now I am left deformed.
I don't know how it's legal for him to false advertise. Many have filed complaints to the california medical boards and BBB, but nothing has happened to him.
I hope you get your money back. If I could -- I would pay all the money I've ever made to turn back time and not get mutilated by that evil man.
